Let’s face it, Drupal isn’t just a CMS. In today’s web and organizational IT environment the need for enterprise architecture and platforms that communicate with one another is a top priority for IT & marketing leadership alike. The idea of Drupal as a platform bringing systems together and helping marketers to lay out and distribute content is gaining steam. I’m going to share a game plan to architect (or improve) your Drupal Platform. I’ll share examples from my experience building a headless web platform for big pharma and deliver a roadmap you can use to bring a Drupal-based platform approach to your organization. We will begin this session with pointers for defining an appropriate platform governance, enabling you to have discussions that will get people within your organization excited about the possibilities of your platform. Then we will discuss the benefits of using a design system and how Drupal can provide flexibility in design and theme layouts. We will also review common issues with 3rd party integration and overall platform architecture. Closing with new helpful Drupal features like Recipes. These ideas, processes, and systems are not specific to one industry or organization, which makes this talk perfect for everyone. The goal is to leave participants with new ideas on how to streamline, enhance, or build their organization’s web platform.
